Accurate Measurements Matter
Precise measurements are critical for custom window treatments that fit perfectly. Here are our guidelines for different types of installations:
Inside Mount
For blinds and shades mounted inside the window frame:
- Measure the exact inside width at three points: top, middle, and bottom
- Measure the exact inside height at three points: left, center, and right
- Use the smallest width and longest height measurements
- Do not make any deductions – our factory will adjust for proper fit
Outside Mount
For blinds and shades mounted outside the window frame:
- Measure the desired width, adding 3-4 inches on each side for light blockage
- Measure from where the top of the treatment will sit to the desired bottom position
- For curtains, add 8-12 inches on each side of the window and 4-6 inches above
